This BMW F1 concept is a self-initiated branding and designing thinking exercise that extends the lifetime of BMW’s brief F1 legacy by placing it in a modern context across apparel, UI, and brand assets. I conducted research to draw from the BMW Sauber era (2006-200) and the brand’s 50th Anniversary moto-emblem to reimagine their timeless white & blue visual language into an innovative race suit alongside additional supporting visuals. I explored the utilization of color blocking to BMW motorsport references while maintaining the historical accuracy of their racing era to provide a contemporary feeling to the audience.
As both a BMW and F1 fan, I used this activity to demonstrate my ability to understand a brand’s visual heritage, convert it into something modern and usable, and create assets that resonate with on and off the track enthusiasts.
